Chris Doroh

Chris is an innovative and accomplished accounting professional with over seven years of accounting experience that includes four years as an accounting manager for a reputable title/real estate company. As an accounting manager, Chris led the growth of an accounting department and expanded its size from a team of three accountants to twelve and the accounting responsibilities of one company to ten other sister companies. Chris has managed accounting for multiple organizations through the implementation of new accounting systems and aligning operations with finance resulting in cohesiveness within the organization.

BJ Crocker

BJ is a serial entrepreneur with a strong focus on technology. His first entrepreneurial venture was developing and launching the first video-sharing platform designed for kids. became one of the most trafficked user-generated video sites for kids. After it was sold, BJ began working with the EvisThrive team to develop educational products for businesses. BJ remains an advisor for as well as handling all tech-related business for EvisThrive and overseeing the product development portion of the company.


Jeff Kaczmarek

Jeff has more than thirty years of experience in economic development and is currently the Executive Director of the Prince William County Department of Economic Development.

Prior to joining Prince William County in April 2012, Mr. Kaczmarek was the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, where he led a staff of over 30, with a budget exceeding $4 million in a board-directed 501 c) (4) organization serving as the City’s economic development agency. From 2007, through mid-2011, the EDC was significantly involved in over 100 business projects which resulted in $1.6 billion in private sector investment and the creation or retention of over 11,000 jobs. The EDC also provided substantial assistance to over 30 development/redevelopment projects resulting in more than $2 billion in private investment.

Kelly Scanlon

Kelly is the owner of Thinking Bigger Business Media, Inc., a company that publishes and produces a variety of products and events that connect growth-minded business owners with practical strategies, resources and information that will take them to the next level of success. The company publishes monthly and annual business magazines, web content, e-newsletters, a radio show, an online Learning Center featuring business books, DVDs and workshops, as well as several networking, educational and awards events, including the annual 25 Under 25® awards that recognize 25 companies with fewer than 25 employees.

Brien Starner

Brien M. Starner has been involved in professional economic development in public, corporate and public/private organizations for over 25 years, and is currently President of Blue Springs Economic Development Corporation (EDC) where he has worked since April 2005.

Brien’s educational and professional experience is supported with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Political Science from William Jewell College, a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation through the International Economic Development Council, and completion of professional coursework through the Institute for Organization Management operated by the US Chamber of Commerce.

Bernard Franklin

Dr. Bernard Franklin is a passionate urban community leader and a consultant to educational institutions, health and wellness organizations, organizations serving youth and families, and the civic community. Most recently, Dr. Franklin served as the President of Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley in Kansas City. He is currently Assistant Vice President at Kansas State University.

A 1976 graduate of Kansas State University, Franklin is considered one of the first African Americans to be elected student body president on a predominately Caucasian campus in the U.S. Franklin went on to make Kansas history books by becoming the youngest person ever appointed to the Kansas State Board of Regents at 24, and the youngest Chair of the Board at age 28. Franklin has been a Fellow for the Study of the United States Presidency, and has served on an advisory commission to the Carter Administration with Martin Luther King III and other prominent young African Americans.
